On Friday the 28. June 2019, KTP Kunststoff Palettentechnik GmbH was honored with the „Top 100″ award. At the pricegiving ceremony gala in Frankfurt am Main, Christel and Andreas Wintrich were presented with the award from mentor Ranga Yogeshwar.
TOP 100 honors the most innovative companies in the German SME sector. For more than 25 years, it has been the only competition that distinguishes innovation management. It is also an important award for innovative companies in the SME sector – the „Club of Excellence”, in which the German innovation elite gathers.
In 2019, KTP ranks among the „top innovators”. The „SmartFix” transport container is a very good example of a „clean logistics solution”. Thanks to our sandwich folding system, it takes up only a fifth of its original space requirement during return transport. This means that for five fully loaded trucks with goods, only one returns with empty transport containers. Among other benefits, this improves the customers’ CO2 balance. In fact, the containers are mostly made of recycled materials. „Plastics that used to be incinerated or dumped are reprocessed and used for our containers,” reports managing director Martin Hentschel. In addition, there is another point: at the end of their life cycle, the containers are returned for recycling.
The basic SmartFix innovation was followed by many others. The durability and handling of the containers have also been continuously optimised. „Ergonomics play an important role”, explains managing director Andreas Wintrich. „We design our products so that the user has it as easy as possible,” adds Christel Wintrich, Managing Director for Marketing & Sales. Return transport is also much easier than with steel containers: since 80% of the volume is saved thanks to the innovative folding technology, this also means a proud 80% fewer empty runs.
